Making the plan work for you

Selection of this slide may update corresponding content belowThe Plan offers you and your family access to an affordable network of attorneys for routine legal services related to personal and family legal issues.
Most services are covered at 100% when you use in-network attorneys. In-network services are available only in the continental United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Hawaii. A reimbursement schedule applies to fees charged by out-of-network attorneys. Attorneys will only provide services for U.S. related issues.
You pay the full cost of your coverage on an after tax basis. There is a flat rate for coverage — your cost per pay period is the same regardless of how many dependents are covered with you.
For enrolled members, our website provides you with the ability to create wills, living wills and powers of attorney online in as little as 15 minutes. Answer a few questions about yourself, your family and your assets to create these documents instantly. In states where available, you also have access to sign and notarize your documents online through our video notary feature.2
Using the plan is easy
1. Find an attorney
Members will have access to an attorney search tool to locate and select an attorney for your specific legal matter. Members can also call MetLife Legal Plans directly for assistance.
2. Make an appointment
Once you’ve received your case number, call the attorney you selected and schedule a time to connect.
3. That’s it!
There are no copays, deductibles or claim forms when you use a network attorney for a covered matter.
1 You will be responsible to pay the difference, if any, between the plan’s payment and the out-of-network attorney’s charge for services.
2 Digital notary and signing is not available in all states.
3 No more than a combined maximum total of four hours of attorney time and service are provided for the member, spouse and qualified dependents, annually.
4 These benefits provide the Participant with access to LifeStages Identity Restoration Services and LifeStages Premium Identity Protection & Restoration provided by IdentityForce, A TransUnion® Brand. IdentityForce is not a corporate affiliate of MetLife Legal Plans.
5 Additional fees may incur if an out-of-network attorney is used.
