Filing a Living Benefits Claim

You are eligible to elect a Living Benefit if you are an employee, annuitant, or compensationer and you are enrolled in the FEGLI Program.

This benefit is for enrollee’s who are terminally ill with a life expectancy of 9 months or less.

Employees:

Employees who wish to apply for a Living Benefit must contact OFEGLI by calling 1-800-633-4542 prompt 3. OFEGLI will send you an application form.

Annuitants:

Annuitants who wish to apply for a Living Benefit must contact OFEGLI by calling 1-800-633-4542 prompt 3. OFEGLI will send you an application form.

Agencies:

Agencies cannot order the FE-8.
