Employee engagement and volunteerism underpins MetLife Foundation’s commitment to the communities where it operates.

MetLife employees live our purpose by lending their business skills and enthusiasm to their communities through support through pro bono service, environmental causes, mentoring and coaching and hands-on projects.

Volunteering with Purpose

MetLife’s third annual Volunteering with Purpose (VwP) campaign engaged associates globally during the month of October to activate our purpose. Through volunteer opportunities designed to increase the impact in 32 countries, MetLife employees helped under served communities and supported our diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) focus areas of disability, gender, and race and ethnicity. In 2022, MetLife employees gave more than 37,000 hours of service to their communities throughout the campaign.

Skills-Based and Pro Bono Volunteering

MetLife employees around the globe drive social impact through skills based and pro bono volunteering and sharing their expertise in technology, legal and human resources, among other areas. MetLife partnered with Common Impact on two pro bono projects for advancing climate action and racial equity initiatives to leverage the time, talent and expertise of MetLife employees in support of nonprofit partners’ most urgent needs.
